Ordin is a Mac app and this website. This policy explains what information is used to run the app, sell a license, and operate the site. It applies to people in the United States and Europe.
What stays on your Mac
Dock layouts, presets, themes, and settings are stored on your Mac, in Ordin’s application support folder. A license key, if you activate one, is stored in the macOS Keychain. Ordin does not upload your documents, window contents, or the names of the apps in your docks.
Live previews use the Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions you grant in System Settings. Thumbnails are shown on your Mac. They are not sent to Ordin.
Trial and license
The 2-day trial does not ask for an account. If you buy a lifetime license, checkout asks for an email address so the license key can be created and shown to you. The price is $12.99, charged in US dollars.
Card payment is handled by Razorpay. Ordin does not receive or store your card number. Razorpay processes the payment under its own privacy policy. Ordin keeps the email address and the fact that a license was issued so the key can be shown again for that payment and so we can help if the key is lost.
Optional analytics and crash reports
Analytics and crash reporting are off unless you turn them on. Analytics, when enabled, sends counts of feature use, such as that a dock was created. It does not include your email, filenames, or the names of other apps. Crash reports, when enabled, are sent to Sentry with an anonymous identifier. Personal details are stripped before a report is sent. You can turn either setting off at any time.
Updates and the website
The app checks this website for updates.json. That request, like any visit to the site, includes the usual connection data such as an IP address, which the host uses to deliver the page.
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. The Razorpay checkout script loads only when you choose to pay. The site does not use advertising cookies and does not sell personal information.
How long we keep checkout email
We keep the email tied to a paid license for as long as we need it to support that license. You can ask us to delete it. If we delete it, we may no longer be able to look up that purchase.
People in Europe and the United Kingdom
If data protection law in your country applies, the license email is used to perform the purchase contract. Optional analytics and crash reports are used only with your consent. Operating the website is a legitimate interest in providing the download and updates. You can ask for a copy of the checkout information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
